A tradition ends - You have probably already noticed that we did not send out calendars this year. Last year the cost of postage considerably exceeded the cost of the calendars, so with some deliberation, we let the tradition pass into history - sorry for any disappointment our decision may have caused. GASWorkS

US Design Module Released - We have recently released the US version of the GASWorkS Design Module. Known as the USDM the module is an option to GW that was primarily developed to make the design of distribution systems for new subdivisions more efficient and automated. The USDM is modeled after a similar module that we have offered to the UK market for several years. A few of its special features include, functions which automate the model creation process, an enhanced pipe sizing routine, an automated service line sizing routine, support of special main and service attribute data to aid in the cost estimating process, and an automated bill-of-material creation routine. Click for more information or to download a demonstration. Back to Topics<<

Property Tables - We have recently made changes to the format of the property tables used by GASWorkS. The changes were made in part to provide support for the new USDM, software however the changes should also make the tables more useful, easier to update, and will allow integration and sharing of tables between our line of products. Your old tables can still be used by simply responding Yes when prompted whether to import the old tables. Or click to download the new tables. Back to Topics<<

Integrity/Risk Modeling With GASWorkS - We have created a proof of concept version of GASWorkS that can be used to create a risk model of your piping system, to help support compliance with the new DOT DIMP requirements. The function uses custom attribute data files to identify threats and consequences for mains and services in a GASWorkS model. The same GW graphical interface that is used to develop and maintain its hydraulic model, can be used to create, revise, and maintain the risk model. If a hydraulic model already exists, it can be used as the basis for the risk model. Based on User input values, risk calculations can be performed for individual facilities, portions of the system, or for the entire system. Results can be reported or graphically plotted. We are contemplating offering the Risk/Integrity Management features as an optional module to GW, similar to current the design modules. We hope to offer a demonstration version of the module by mid-year. Back to Topics<<

GASCalc

GASCalc 5.0 Development Underway - We have been working on the next release of GASCalc. The new release will have a number of new and revised calculation routines including an AGA 10 speed of sound routine, a significantly revised plastic pipe design routine, a revised pipe sizing routine which allows selection of multiple sizes for a single pipe section - for example, instead of providing just an inside pipe diameter when pipe sizing, the new routine will display the required lengths of the size closest to the calculated diameter. Let us know if you have items you would like to see added to the new software - click to send suggestions. Back to Topics<<

Stationmanager

User Community Growing - Although the acceptance of our StationManager product has been a bit slow, we saw a modest increase in the StationManager community during 2009. It seems that many companies are still using older products like GasValve, or own-grown spreadsheet or database solutions to manage their regulator/relief station compliance data. Undoubtedly these products are adequate, however they generally require support from personnel that often have other tasks to work on and often only provide limited calculation support. SM provides a robust calculation engine and includes our responsive and dedicated technical support. Click for more information. Back to Topics<<

Documentation - The complete StationManager documentation is still under development, it will hopefully be released in the next few months - we will keep you posted. Back to Topics<<

training

Colorado Springs Training - After a couple year hiatus, we plan to again provide training classes here in Colorado Springs. We have a new training facility and hope to get classes scheduled beginning in early spring. We plan to offer courses in the use of our software products, including an advanced class for GASWorkS users. Depending on the demand, we may also offer more general courses in various system design topics. We will send more information as our plans become finalized. Click to be added to our training notification list. Back to Topics<<
